BOONE-Donald Haydock, 83, of Boone, formerly of Iowa Falls, died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at the Boone County Hospital of respiratory failure. Memorial services were held Tuesday, July 31, at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone with graveside services and burial in Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls.
Donald was born May 21, 1918, in Des Moines, to George and Mildred Pickens Haydock. He attended school in Iowa Falls and on April 7, 1941, he married Doris Cooper at Hampton. He was employed by Ralston Purina in Iowa Falls, from 1948-1968 and the couple moved to Boone in 1968 where he was employed by the D.O.T. in Ames until retiring in 1984. His hobbies were electronics and carpentry.
He is survived by his wife, Doris, of Boone; a son, Donald Haydock and his wife, Sharon, of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Charlotte Haydock of Boone; a sister-in-law, Minerva Haydock of Marshalltown; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Maynard.
