HAMPTON-Maxine Varrelman, 84, of Hampton, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at her home in Hampton. Services were held Thursday, July 26, at the Hampton Methodist Church with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Rev. Robert Conner officiated.
Maxine was born March 2, 1917, at Knoxville, to Ora and Fay Kennedy Orr. She was educated in the Knoxville Schools and on April 2, 1934, she married Edgar Varrelman at Albert Lea, Minn. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church. Maxine enjoyed senior housing events, crafts and collecting dolls.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan Drake of Clarksville, and Joyce Miller and husband, Jim, of Webster, Minn.; two sons, Darrel (Butch) Varrelman and wife, Peggy, and Dennis Varrelman and wife, Marie, all of Hampton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; a sister; and two grandchildren.
Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton, was in charge of arrangements.
