IOWA FALLS-Ruth A. Beckman, 72, of Iowa Falls, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at the Scenic Manor Care Facility, Iowa Falls. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 23, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Iowa Falls, with burial at the Dayton Cemetery. Rev. Brian King will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 2-8 p.m. at Linn's Funeral Home with the family receiving friends between 5-7 p.m.

Ruth Ardella was born March 31, 1929, at Pomeroy, to Carl and Margaret Wall Schoon. She graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1946. On May 9, 1948, she married Verle Waldamer Beckman at Pomeroy. She had been employed by Swartz Drug in Iowa Falls as a clerk and was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Verle, of Iowa Falls; three sons, Dennis and wife, Mary Ella, of Marshalltown, Dean and wife, Nancy, of Vinton, and David and wife, Brenda, of Iowa Falls; six grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Cullins of Genesco, Ill., Donna Lenz and husband, Ted, of Florence, Ariz., and Marilyn Collins of Twin Lakes; and a brother, Charles Schoon and wife, Beverly, of Rockwell City. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Tessa Beckman; a sister, Wanda Fisher; and a brother, Milford Schoon.

Linn's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
