WILLIAMS-Richard G. Boor, 62, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services were held Tuesday, July 10, at 10:30 a.m at the First Assembly of God Church in Ames, with burial at Northlawn Memory Gardens at Iowa Falls. Pastor Gary Pilcher officiated.

Richard was born Dec. 22, 1938, at Iowa City, to James Ross and Reletta Wheeler Boor. He grew up in Osceola and graduated from Leon High School and worked at Rath Packing Plant in Waterloo for four years. On Nov. 5, 1960, he married Joan Weaver. He moved to Mesa, Ariz., in 1962 where he worked in the banking business until moving to Williams in 1986. He was last employed by Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, as assistant to the construction managers. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Ames and established the Riverside Ministries (Southern Gospel).

He is survived by his wife, Joan, of Williams; two daughters, Sandy Boor of Sherwood, Ark., and Rebecca Frank of Iowa Falls; two sons, Aaron Boor of Jewell, and Ben Boor of Farmington, Minn.; 15 grandchildren ; two brothers, Maurice Boor of Deer River, Minn., and Gerald Boor of Alden; six sisters, Helen Meyer of Iowa Falls, Aletha Anderson of Williams, Norma Alderdyce of Coulter, Marilyn Venner of Williams, Carolyn Hoversten and Nancy Barnhart, both of Iowa Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bernard.

Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames, was in charge of arrangements.
