Oct. 10, 1912-June 30, 2001

ELDORA-Fern Kusserow, 88, of Eldora, died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora. Services were held Tuesday, July 3, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora, with burial in the Eldora City Cemetery. Rev. Paul Splett officiated.

Fern was born Oct. 10, 1912, in Eldora, to Ray and Flossie Clinton Willcox. She graduated from Eldora High School and on June 1, 1933, she married Ilo Kusserow at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora. They farmed their entire working lives on the same family century farm located west of Eldora. In 1998 she moved into Eldora. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed sewing and cooking.

She is survived by two sons, Dean and wife, Nancy, of Eldora, and Carroll and wife, Alice, of Marion; two daughters, Linda Hovden and husband, Greg, of Waverly, and Iola Muschick of Randall; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ilo, in 1998; three sisters, Neva Vry, Darlene Kusserow and Catherine Crippen; and three brothers, Wendell, Elvin and Everett Willcox.

Creps-Abels Funeral Home of Eldora was in charge of arrangements.
