COULTER-Esther O. Larsen, 91, of Coulter, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton. Services were held Tuesday, July 3 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter with burial in the Coulter Cemetery. Pastor Mary Peterson officiated.

Esther was born Oct. 27, 1909, in Franklin County to Andrew and Sena Sorensen Johansen. She attended Latimer Schools and on Jan. 6, 1932, she married Lewis Larsen in Albert Lea, Minn. She worked for Sears for twenty years and owned and operated a grocery store in Coulter. She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter. and was active in the church and the Coulter Cemetery Society. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, playing cards and family reunions.

She is survived by two sons, Richard and wife, Frances, of Hampton and Sherwood "Pete" and wife, Marcia, of Clarion; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, five sisters; two brothers, two grandsons, and two great-grandchildren.

Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home at Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
