AMES-Judy Middendorf, 61, of Ames, formerly of Ackley, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services were held Monday, June 25 at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Her remains will be buried at a later date.
Judy was born June 21, 1940, in Ackley, to Harry and Lucille McGreevy Ryken. She graduated from Ackley High School in 1958 and received her bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in 1963. On June 1, 1963, she married James Middendorf in Ackley, and was employed as an account clerk in the vet med/diagnostic lab at Iowa State University. She was a member of the Onondaga Questers Group.
She is survived by her husband, James; two daughters, Michelle Wolins of Conifer, Colo., and Sherri Middendorf of Minneapolis, Minn.; her father, Harry Ryken of Ackley; two sisters, Jean Grattet of Denver, Colo., and Rita Bennet of Lakewood, Colo.; a brother, Dennis Ryken, of Crestone, Colo. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Memorials may be directed to the Mary Greeley Foundation Oncology Department at Ames.
