PARKERSBURG-Ethel Marie Meikle, 83, of Parkersburg, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Funerals services are Wednesday, June 27, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parkersburg, with burial in the church cemetery. Father Dennis Quaint will officiate. A memorial fund has been established.

Ethel was born March 3, 1918, in Chicago, Ill., to Frank and Margaret Earhardt Meikle. She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1936, and then attended Chicago Business College for a year. She worked for John Deere as a secretary for 33 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and was a past state bowling champion for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother and a friend, Rose Brooks.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center, is in charge of arrangements.
