HAMPTON-Anna Honeck Ladwig, 91, of Hampton, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Krueger officiated.

Anna was born Dec. 31, 1909, to William and Anna Goerner Honeck at their rural Hampton farm home. She attended Marion No. 7 country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Hampton High School in 1928. Following graduation she taught at a rural school in Hancock County, Meservey for one year, and two years at Marion No. seven in Hampton. She joined the staff of Ladwig Chevrolet as bookkeeper and office manager where she remained for 37 years. On June 5, 1948, she married Roy O. Ladwig at her parents home. Following his death she sold the dealership in 1968 and remained on staff seven years. She later operated her own accounting service, specializing in General Motors dealerships throughout the state of Iowa. She worked with a dealership in Colorado for eight years and retired to her home in Hampton after spending a total of 56 years in the automobile business.

She was active in many organizations including the Community Betterment Committee; county chairperson Democratic Party; B.P.W.; American Legion Auxiliary; Woman's Club; F.G. Hospital Auxiliary; Hampton Country Club; Cemetery Society; and the Franklin County Historical Society. She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since its beginning in 1916. She enjoyed photography and quilting.

Survivors include her sister, Margaret Fogleson of Des Moines; two nieces; four nephews; six cousins and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and three brothers.
