HAMPTON-Gilbert F. Behn, 86, of Hampton, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility at Hampton. Services will be held Wednesday, June 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Krueger will officiate.
Gilbert was born Feb. 25, 1915, at Hampton to Rudolf and Anna Dohrmann Behn. He graduated from Sheffield High School and on Dec. 6, 1940, he married Marguerite Kruse at Hampton. He was a lifetime farmer in Franklin County and served as county supervisor for twelve years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served as Sunday School teacher and was a 4-H leader for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite, of Hampton, two sons, Curtis and wife, Rosa, of Willow, Alaska and Roger and wife, Carol, of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Karolyn Haugland and husband, Red, of Thornton and Marilyn Behn of Hampton; a brother, Ernie Behn and wife, Maruee, of Boone; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters and four brothers.
Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
