Elmer Hanson
November 21, 1912-March 8, 2008

ATLANTA, Ga.—Elmer Hanson passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Brighton Gardens Senior Citizen Center in Atlanta, Ga.

Elmer was born Nov. 21, 1912, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the son of Chris and Anna Hanson. He moved to Iowa Falls where he met and married Inez Brown in 1935.

Mr. Hanson was well known as a building contractor in Iowa Falls and surrounding towns. He built the St. Mark’s Catholic Church, the United Methodist Church, many International Harvester buildings, the former Piggly Wiggly building and numerous custom-built homes. Mr. Hanson was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge in Iowa Falls.

Survivors include his wife, Inez; daughter Judy Hanson Stone and husband Greg; daughter Linda Hanson Cole and husband Michael; four grandsons and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held in Iowa Falls this summer and his ashes will be interred in the Brown family plot at Union Cemetery
