George J. Dunphy
November 4, 1928-March 22, 2008MARSHALLTOWN—George J. Dunphy, 79, of Marshalltown, formerly of Des Moines, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at the Veterans Hospital in Marshalltown.
George was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on Nov. 4. 1928, to Mary Grace Flynn and George P. Dunphy. He attended St. Ambrose grade school and graduated from Dowling High School. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. George lived in California, Arizona and Florida before returning to Iowa 10 years ago.
George is survived by his children, Michelle Wilson of Frisco, Colo., and Patrick Wilson of St. Louis, Mo.; his siblings, Lawrence Dunphy of Perry, Dennis Dunphy of Las Vegas, Mary Jean Dunley of Des Moines, Ann Marie Lundy of Las Vegas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Christopher Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Murdock Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of the arrangements.
