Edith Bessman
Dec. 18, 1917 - April 27, 1992
Alden - Edith Bessman, 74, or Alden died Monday, April 27, 1992 at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral Services were held at 2p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 1992 at the United Methodist Church in Alden, with Rev. Kevin Gingerich officiating. Interment was at Northlawn Memory Gardens, Iowa Falls.
She was born Dec. 18, 1917 at Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of Martin and Ellen Varland Rasmusson. She was a 1935 graduate of Sioux Falls High School. She married Merle Rasmusson who later died. She later was united in marriage to Arthur Bessman. Edith had worked as a cook at the Alden school. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Alden.
Surviiving are two sisters, Colleen Platts of Grand Junction, Colorado and Dorothy Fanebust, of Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Merle Rasmussen and Artthur Bessman, a sister, and a brother.
Surls Funeral home of Alden was in charge of the arrangements.
