John A. Lockwood, 80, who at one time farmed north of Eldora, passed way Thursday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Robert McBurney, at Iowa Falls. Services were held Saturday at Iowa Falls and interment was made in Eldora cemetery.

Mr. Lockwood was born in Alma, Mich., Sept 23, 1856, the youngest of eight children all who have preceded him in death. In July 4, 1884 he was united in marriage to Ideall Wilaby at Steamboat Rock. She died Feb 28, 1912. To this union were born the following children: Mrs. Mabel Gillett of Waterloo, Mrs. Blanch Babcock of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Emily McBurney of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Myrtle Cable of Eldora and Mrs. Elva Hayden, who died May 27,1922.

Besides these there remain 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Most of his life was spent in Hardin County except for a few years in Nebraska and Minnesota.
