Ellen Jane Cable passed away at her home in Eldora, Nov. 9 1936, following a short illness caused from a fall dislocating her hip. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Vilmont-Longenecker funeral home, conducted by Rev. Dewey Lamprecht. Interment was made in Eldora cemetary.

Ellen Jane Cheeseman was born march 13, 1859, in Ogle county Ill., and was united in marriage to James Cable Aug. 18, 1883 in Eldora. She was baptised in infancy and reared in the German Reformed church of Forreston, Ill. Mr. and Mrs. James Cable have lived most of their married life in and around Eldora and to them were born six children. Elsia J. and Erwin died in infancy. The living children are: Vern M. Cable of Barstow Calif; Frank Cable and Ern J. Cable of Eldora; and Cora Mae Taber of Hubbard.

Besides her husband and children she is survived by two brothers and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Mumma of Forreston, Ill., William Cheeseman of Washington, Iowa and Uhiria Cheeseman of Rhinlander, Wis.
