The community was saddened and shocked Tuesday at the sudden death of Mrs. William Eller who passed away at her home that morning. Marie Fredreka Kuhfus was born Nov. 22, 1884, in Sherman township, Hardin county, Ia., and died Dec. 23, 1930 at 7:15 a.m. at the age of 47 years, 1 month and 1 day. She was the third child of Henry and Elvina Kuhfus. She had (blacked out) sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Minnie Kuhlman of Hubbard; Mrs. Anna Ziesman of Eldora; Will Kuhfus of Radcliffe; Mrs. Elmer Wykle, Radcliffe; Fred Kuhfus of Sherman; Mrs. Elsie Topp of Sherman; Mrs. Clara Topp of Sherman, and a sister named Emma who died in her infancy. At the age of 14 years she was confirmed in the Zion Evangelical church at Hubbard. Later she became a member of the United Evangelical church at Evergreen. Her christian life speaks forth many deeds and kindnesses among her relatives and friends. On May 24, 1911, she was united in Marriage to William E. Eller. To this union was born four children, Homer, 18; Hellen (sic), 16; Fern 13; and Mary Jane, the infant baby. To her husband she was a great help and a loving companion; to her children a kind, loving, and patient christian mother; to the relatives a dear sister and aunt and to her friends a helpful neighbor and friend. She passed into heaven with songs of praise on her lips, beckoning her loved ones to soon follow.

Funeral services were held in the Radcliffe Methodist Episcopal church on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1930 at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Arthur B. Gedye. Interment was made in Radcliffe cemetery.
