Wife of Supervisor Dead

Mrs. S. C. Engelking Died at Iowa Falls Monday Following Stroke of Apoplexy -- Funeral Held Wednesday

Mrs. S. S. (sic) Engelking, wife of the former chairmen of the board of supervisors, died at her home in Iowa Falls early Monday morning. Her death followed a stroke of apoplexy,suffered Friday. She was 49 years old.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Congregational church in Iowa Falls, conducted by Rev. C. E. Cushman. The music, which included the hymns Mrs. Engelking loved most, was provided by Mr. and Mrs. J. William Thalman. Burial was in Alden cemetery, near the grave of her father.

Mrs. Engelking was formerly Emma Marie Granzow. She was born March 4, 1881, on a farm a mile west of Hubbard, where she grew to womanhood. She was baptized in the Zion Evangelical church at Hubbard, and was confirmed at the age of 14, at which time she was united with the church. She received here education in the public schools there. She was married June 25, 1902, to Simon C. Engelking, and lived in Hubbard until March 1911, when they moved to Alden. In March 1925, they moved to Iowa Falls where have since made their home. Mrs. Engelking was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Granzow.

Beside her husband, Mrs. Engelking is survived by six children: Herbert F of Milwaukee, Wis.; Leslie, Elba, Hortense, Truman and Willard of Iowa Falls; three sisters, Mrs. D.O. Wilson of Des Moines, Mrs. L.A. Wheeler of Alden and Mrs. J. V. Roberson of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Henry W. Granzow, Edmond, Oklahoma; William Granzow, Alden.
