Obituary

James Ira Bowman was born the son or Uriah Jothan (sic) and Matilda Elizabeth Kammary Bowman on Oct. 23rd, 1878, one of six children. A brother, Si Bowman and a sister, Mrs. Guy Shephard preceded him in death. There are two brothers and a sister remaining.

On Nov. 11, 1903, he was united in marriage with Ethel Lundy. to this union five children were born. Four survive. A son, George, died in 1937. the surviving children are Zella, Mrs. Ralph Correll, of Eldora; Mike, of St. Anthony; Carroll of Rockford, Ill., and Veva, Mrs. Duane Boike of Hawthorne, Calif.

There are 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, besides other relatives who survive.

Mr. Bowman was born in Grundy county, Iowa. He was engaged in farming the greater part of his life. In 1932 he moved to Eldora, where he was employed until the time of his death. Mrs. Bowman passed away five years ago.

The surviving brothers are John of Walnut Grove, Bill of Marshalltown and the sister, Mary Kusserow, of Iowa Falls.
