Rites Held for Mrs. Dobbrunz

(30 October 1956)

Services were held at the St. Paul's Lutheran church here (Eldora) Tuesday for Mrs. Fred Dobbrunz, 81.

Minnie Louise Dobbrunz was born on June 5, 1875, in Pomerania, Germany, a daughter of William Marske and his wife Caroline nee Ziemke. She was baptized in the Lutheran church in Germany.

She came to America with her parents at the age of seven and settled in Eldora in 1882.

She was confirmed here by Rev. Haar of Hubbard, who served the congregation before Eldora had a resident pastor.

On March 9, 1899, she was united in marriage with Fred Dobbrunz. Five children were born to this union, one dieing (sic) at birth.

For many years Mrs. Dobbrunz lived on a farm west of Eldora and since then has lived on West Edgington avenue.

Mr. and Mrs. Dobbrunz observed their golden wedding anniversary seven years ago. Mr. Dobbrunz died in June, 1953.

Surviving are her daughter, Meta, who has lived with her parents through the years; three sons, William, Vern, and Carl, of Eldora; three brothers, Charles Marske of California, August Marske of Oregon and August Marske of Eldora; three sisters, Mrs. Otto Ruhnke of Park Rapids, Minn., Mrs. Otto Orgell of Eldora and Amanda Marske of Eldora, and a granddaughter, Verla Jean Dobbrunz of Eldora.
