Fall Proves Fatal to Mrs. Gillette, Formerly of Traer

Services for Mrs. Lockwood Gillette, 43, of Cedar Falls, formerly Traer resident, were Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church in Cedar Falls with burial at LaPorte City.

Mrs. Gillette fell down a short flight of stairs Sunday while visiting friends in Sumner. She was treated by a doctor there before returning home and it was thought she was not seriously hurt. Monday morning she was taken to the hospital where she died an hour later.

Mrs. Gillette, the former Nevah Bellinger, was born June 22, 1912, at LaPorte City, and was married April 21, 1940, at Cresco. Mr. Gillette managed the locker plant in Traer for several years. The family moved to Cedar Falls six years ago. Besides her widower, she is survived by two children, Fonda 14, and Merle 11, and by two brothers and a sister.
