Service Saturday for Wehrman, 21, Accident Victim

Lutheran Church Rites for Eldora High School Graduate

Services for Willard Wehrman, 21, Eldora youth killed in a two-car accident south of Iowa Falls last Wednesday night (13 August 1955), were held at the St. Paul's Lutheran church here Saturday afternoon. The Rev. John Zimmermann officiated.

Wehrman was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wehrman. His father, a farmer, is a member of the Eldora board of education.

Pall bearers were Stanley Granner, Martin Kasischke, Kenneth Tebben, Ted Tietz, Glen Dole and Gail Hackey.

Music was by the St. Paul choir with Mrs. Walter Guenther at the organ. Miss Betty Willig, Miss Arlyn Daleske, Miss Marilyn Uhlken and Miss Marilyn Dole were in charge of the flowers.

Interment was in the Eldora cemetery.

Attending the service in a body were members of the Vinton Construction Co., of Eldora. Wehrman was employed by the firm.

Willard Eugene Wehrman, born June 15, 1934, was baptized in the Lutheran church as an infant and confirmed in 1848. He was a graduate of Eldora high school in 1951. He was active in the F.F.A. and received the Iowa Farmer degree and was also a former 4-H member.

In 1952 he enlisted in the Navy. After boot training he went to school at Port Hume for construction mechanics with the Seabees. He spent 19 months in Guam and six months in the Philippines. He returned home last May 19.

He was a member of the Lutheran church and had served as president of the Walther League, a church youth group.

He recently was engaged to Mis Marjorie Uhlken of Steamboat Rock.

Immediate survivors are his parents and Miss. Uhlken; three brothers, Harold, jr, Paul and David; two sisters, Kathleen and Nancy, all of Eldora; and his grandparents, Mr and Mrs. Henry Wehrman and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ruhnke of Hubbard and two nephews, Harold III and John.

A sister preceded him in death in 1933.
