Final Rites Held for Myrtle Cable

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Andrely and Creps Funeral Home for Mrs. Myrtle Cable, 76, who passed away Monday, May 4 (1964), at her Eldora home.

The Rev Walter Dimmlich, pastor of the Eldora Methodist Church, officiated. Pallbearers were Delmar Hayden, Everett Foster, Walter Granner, Donald Eckhoff, John Janssen and Carroll Doud.

Flower ladies were Mrs. Everett Foster, Mrs. Donald Eckhoff and Mrs. Ralph Bright. Mrs Clement Marsden was the vocalist, and Mrs. J. D. Leonard was the organist.

Burial was in the Eldora Cemetery.

Myrtle B. Lockwood Cable, the daughter of John and Idella Lockwood, was born March 17, 1888 in Hardin County. She received her schooling in the Hardin County rural schools and the Eldora High School.

On January 21, 1909, she was united in marriage to Frank M. Cable at Steamboat Rock. Three children, all deceased, were born to this union.

She lived on a farm northwest of Eldora for 35 years prior to her husband's retirement in 1944 when they moved to Eldora. She was a member of the Berlin Church.

Surviving are two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Maxine Cable and Mrs. Helen Cable, both of Eldora; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, two sons, Kenneth and Harold and one daughter, Wilma.
