Funeral services for Elmer Erwin Langlitz, who was accidentally killed January 9, when a truck box fell on him, were held at the E.U.B. church in Goodell on Thursday, January 12, with the Rev. Forest Lay, pastor of the church officiating.

Interment was in Amsterdam Cemetery at Goodell with the Osman Funeral Services in charge. Herman Meyer, Eric Meyer, John Eenhuis, Ervin Priebe, Burr Church and J. E. Blank were casket bearers. Mr. Henry Brede, Mrs. John Peterson, Amos Hanson and J. J. Cook offered comfort in music. They were accompanied by Lester VerHelst at the organ and Arthur Savogue at the piano. Floral tributes were arranged by Mrs. Carol Green and Mrs. Paul Veldhouse.

Elmer Erwin Langlitz, son of William and Anna Langlitz, was born February 12, 1916 at Goodell, Iowa. He was reared in the Goodell community and received most of his education in the Goodell school. In 1931 he moved with his parents to Meservey where he graduated from Meservey high school in 1933.

He moved to Klemme in 1938 and in 1941 joined the Armed Forces for four years, serving three years overseas with the Army Engineers. After his discharge in 1945 he returned to Klemme, where he made his home with Mrs. Mildred Day, and worked at the mechanical trade until his accidental death on Monday, January 9, 1961.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Anna Langlitz, Klemme, two brothers, Ira of Goodell and Forrest of Klemme; also seven nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, William Langlitz in 1944.
