Clell LaFavre's services July 5th

Funeral services for Clell Earnest LaFavre, 55, of rural Goodell, were held last Thursday, July 5, at 1:30 p.m. from the United Methodist church, Goodell, with the Rev. Byron D. Surface of Webster City officiating.

Mr. LaFavre died quite suddenly Sunday afternoon, July 1, in a doctor's office in Meservey. Burial took place in the Amsterdam cemetery near Goodell. The William-Andrew Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Born August 26, 1917, in Russell, Iowa, he was the son of Earnest and Ethel (McKinley) LaFavre. He was raised in the Russell,Iowa area and graduated from high school in Russell.

On July 1, 1939, he was united in marriage to Iris Sherwood in Unionville, Missouri. Mr. LaFavre had lived in the Goodell area for the past 34 years. He had been a successful insurance underwriter with the American Republic Insurance Company since December of 1967.

Mr. LaFavre was a member of the United Methodist Church in Goodell.

Survivors include his wife, Iris, one son, Jerry, of Klemme, one daughter, Mrs George (Margaret) Gerdes of Klemme, six grandchildren: Scott,Jeffrey, Adam, Cherrie, and Rachell LaFavre; and Robert Allan Gerdes.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
