Marion Traas

Services for Marion Traas, 69, of 3220 S.W. Twelfth place, will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial at Crystal Lake.

Mr. Traas died Friday at Des Moines General Hospital of a heart ailment following a three week illness. He was a butcher for Iowa Packing Co. until retiring in 1962. Since then he worked for Butz Garden Center. He was a member of Eagles Lodge and Packinghouse Workers Union Local 89.

Born in Holland, Mr. Traas lived in Des Moines 23 years after coming here from Crystal Lake.

Surviving are his wife Beulah; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Smith and Mrs. Catherine Hartwig, both of Des Moines; his mother, Mrs. Suzanna Maria Traas of Holland; five brothers, Audrey, Case and Louis, all of Holland, John of France and Jacob of Canada; four sisters, Mrs. Jane Nuitgen, Elizabeth Traas, Mrs. Ka Schrier and Mrs. Delna Lockefeir, all of Holland; and 11 grandchildren.
