Alvin Townsend

Britt - Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Britt Methodist Church for Alvin Townsend, 44, Britt area farmer.

Mr. Townsend died Friday at a Rochester, Minn., hospital of injuries received in a two car accident here Sept. 11.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery here with the Grupe Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Warren Paige, Britt, and the Rev. Robert Bell, Everly.

Mr. Townsend was a lifelong Hancock County resident. He was past president of the Hancock County Fair and the Hancock County Beef Producers Association.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; three daughters, Nancy, Sandy and Janine, all at home; his mother, Mrs. J. Miller Townsend, Britt; two sisters, Mrs. Don (Lucille) Roe, Garner, and Mrs. Duane (Virginia) Yeakel, Kanawha, and two brothers, Marvin and Robert, Both of Garner.
