Howard Johnson
BRITT: Howard L. Johnson, 72, of Britt, died Thursday (July 26, 1990) at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ewing Funeral Chapel, Britt, with the Rev. James A. Mattson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson was born July 8, 1918, at Thornton.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, Britt; one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Joanne) Trieder, Fairmont, Minn; one step daughter, Mrs. David (Marilyn) Brown, Newton; one stepson, Bruce Mehus, Indiana, Pa.; and five sisters, Wilma Stites, Britt; Leloa Hanson, Sacramento, Calif.; Esther LaGue, Mason City; Mrs. William (Lorraine) Drabeck, Columbus; Wis., and June Gordon, Greenville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one stepdaughter, three brothers and two sisters.

1918-1990Services for Howard L. Johnson, 72, Britt, who died Thursday, July 26, 1990 at his home in Britt, were held Monday, July 30, 10:30 a.m. at the Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt with Rev. James A. Mattson officiating.
Music was provided by organist, LaRae Hobscheidt.
Casket bearers were Wayne Dudgeon, Denny Johnson, Holger Madson, Dean Eliason, Dale Nielsen and Gene Keller.
Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery in Britt with arrangements made by Ewing Funeral Home.
Howard Lewellyn Johnson, the son of William and Mata Floy Johnson, was born July 8, 1918 at Thornton where he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He received his education in the Thornton area. He then moved to Britt.
He married Evelyn Denny in Britt. She passed away in 1964. At this time Howard was employed for Lechelt Garage. In 1966 he married Dorothy Mehus in Britt where the couple has since resided. Howard was employed with the Farmers Britt Co-op until his retirement in ,1980.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Britt; one daughter, Joann Dee and her husband, Tom Trieder of Fairmont, MN; one stepdaughter, Marilyn and her husband, David Brown of Newton; one stepson, Bruce and his wife, Helen Mehus of Indiana, PA; two grandchildren; five step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; five sisters, Wilma Stites of Britt, Leloa Hanson of Sacremento, CA, Esther LaGue; of Mason City, Lorraine and her husband, William Drabek of Columbus, WI and June Gordon of Greenville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a step daughter, Sandra; a step grandson, Chris; three brothers; and two sisters.
