Death Strikes Twice In Homes Of The Aged

Death came to Mrs. A. O. Christenson at Park hospital, Mason City, Sunday evening. She had been a patient there for several weeks. Her going is the culmination of a long siege of hardening of the arteries.

Hannah H. Johanson, was born at Stockholm, Sweden, on March 15, 1882. When a young girl of fifteen she came to America and it was in Britt that she was wedded to A. O. Christenson on the 29th of November, 1901. The family lived at Crystal Lake most of the time since then, finally selling out at Crystal Lake and coming to Britt where they purchased a new home on West 5th St.

Like many other couples, Mr. and Mrs. Christenson had their share of sad experiences, the greatest being in deaths. They were the parents of ten children only three of whom survive their mother. They are Lillie (Mrs. H. Tiggeman) of Rockford, Iowa; Lloyd and Calvin on farms in the north part of this county near Crystal Lake. There are nine grandchildren surviving, and one deceased. Besides Mr. Christenson, the children and grandchildren, deceased is survived by three sisters and a brother, one sister in Reno, Nevada; one in Compton, Calif.; and a brother and sister at Ogden, Utah.

Three infant sons, one son six months old, two daughters still young children, and a daughter Mabel (Mrs. Glen Powers) preceded their mother in death.

Mrs. Christenson made acquaintances easily and kept them. Her home was open to her friends and she made them happy when in her presence. It was last Nov. 29 that this venerable couple observed their golden wedding at their home in Britt surrounded by the children and grandchildren and other relatives.

Funeral rites will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Osman Chapel in Britt, and at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church at Crystal Lake. Interment will be in the family lot in Crystal cemetery, Crystal Lake.
