Garner Woman Buried After Short Illness; Leaves Four Children
Garner, March 1. - Memorial services will be held for Mrs. Fred Meckstroth, 50, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church, the Rev. C. H. Van Metre officiating.
She was born March 1, 1877, at Eldora. When 15 years old her mother died and since then she has been a mother to her six brothers and sisters. She married August Stille. To them were born four sons, Roy, Earl, Chester and Cecil. All lived in Garner, Roy an invalid World war veteran, is still in the home.
Mr. Stille died in 1910. Three years later Mrs. Stille was united in marriage to Fred Meckstroth. Together they have maintained a home in Garner up to the time of her death Wednesday morning. Mrs. Meckstroth grew up in the teaching of the German M. E. church and on its merging with the English church Mrs. Meckstroth became a member. She was active in the Ladies' Aid, the Foreign Missionary society and in the Legion auxiliary.
She leaves her husband and four sons and four brothers and two sisters, Will of Garner, Otto, George and Herman Gast of Klemme; Mrs. Clara Stille, Klemme, and Mrs. Martha Jansen of Ackley.
