Services for Robert Maryhew, 68, of Garner, who died Thursday at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City were held 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28, at Zion United Church of Christ in Garner with Rev. Larry Laskie as officiant. Mrs. Alan Jass, organist, accompanied Mrs. Dale Greiman and Mrs. Stan Greiman, who sang as a duet. Ushers were Allan DeWitt, Gary Bomstad and Stan Greiman.
Casket bearers were Tom Weaver, Craig Weaver, Brent Weaver, Egon Weaver, Dick Hitzhusen and William Quigley. Burial was in Peace Reformed Cemetery south of Garner. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.
Robert Maryhew, the son of James and Edna (McConnell) Maryhew was born Oct. 24, 1915 at Iowa Falls. After attending school at Iowa Falls he moved to Garner where he worked for various farmers and also drove a "Star Mail Route".
Dec. 28, 1952 he married Bernice W. Weaver at Garner. He worked for Northern Natural Gas Company from 1949 until he retired. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Jay (Janet) Janssen of Ames; his granddaughter, Jamie Kaye Janssen; two sisters: Mrs. Dorothea Helms and Evelyn Maryhew, both of Belleview, Ill.; a brother, Boyd Maryhew and his wife, Ruth, of Warren, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, Feb. 22, 1982; his parents; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Foster and a brother, Russell Maryhew.

GARNER — Robert Maryhew, 68, of Garner, died Thursday (April 26, 1984) at a Mason City hospital.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion United Church of Christ, Garner, with the Rev. Larry Laskie officiating. Burial will be in Peace Reformed Cemetery south of Garner.
