Ruth B. Nelson

JANESVILLE, Minn. Ruth B. Nelson, 82, formerly of Ventura, died Friday (Oct. 22, 1999) at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at the Peace Reform Church Cemetery in Garner Iowa, with the Rev. Robert Grossman officiating.

Ruth B. Nelson, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Schultz) Brouwer, was born on Aug. 3, 1917, in Ventura. Ruth was a graduate of Ventura High School.

On Dec. 9, 1935, Ruth was united in marriage to Clarence Nelson in Iowa. Ruth was a wife and homemaker as well as a sales clerk for Dayton's Department store.

After retiring from Dayton's, she and her husband enjoyed traveling together. Ruth moved to Janesville in 1977 after the death of her husband, Clarence. She lived in Park Road Plaza for 10 years and most recently was a resident at the Janesville Nursing Home for the past three years.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Warren of Janesville, Minn.; one son-in-law, Don Santo of Janesville, Minn.; five grandchildren, Mike Santo, Mike Nelson, Jeffrey Warren, Troy Warren and Steve Folkerts and his wife, Annette; six great-grandchildren, Stephen Folkerts, Sarah Warren, Andrew Warren, Justin Ray, Justin Michael and Tommy; and four sisters, Lois Jasperson of Des Moines, Norma Crompton and her husband, Louis, of Downey, Calif., Phyllis Brouwer of Clear Lake, and Bernice Butts of Oakdale, Calif.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Coral Santo; one granddaughter, Kim Folkerts; one great-granddaughter, Stephanie; five brothers and two sisters.
