Russ M. Hutson rites held Monday

Funeral services for Russ M. Hutson of Forest City were conducted Monday afternoon at Calvary Baptist church in Forest City. The Rev. Gerald Thurber officiated.

Ivan Hutson was soloist and Mrs. Ralph Johnson, organist. Casket bearers were Gene Buckley, Wayne Buckley, Harvey Johnson, Dan R. Johnson, Mark Kriglstein and Gordon Hall. Burial was in Madison township cemetery with the Peterson Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Hutson, 80, died unexpectedly Friday [18 Dec 1981].

Russus M. Hutson, the son of Charles and Sarah Hutson, was born Nov. 2, 1901, on a farm near Crystal Lake. He attended rural school near Crystal Lake and as a young man started a cream route for the Garner Coop Creamery. He had the cream route for 50 years and farmed in the Hayfield area.

Russ married Gae Hickok March 24, 1926. She died Oct. 17, 1962. He married Olive Olson Buckley March 19, 1966. The couple established their home in Forest City where Russ was employed as a custodian for Waldorf College for five years. Since then he has worked part-time far area farmers. He was an active member of the United Methodist church in Hayfield, Calvary Baptist church in Forest City and C.B.M.C.

Survivors include his wife, Olive; a son, Richard Hutson of Forest City; two daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Sheryl) Johnson of Cedar Falls and Mrs. Charles (Glennis) Kriglstein of Sioux City; five step-sons, Dennis Buckley of Hamburg, Germany, Gene Buckley of St. Peter, Minn., Wayne Buckley of Omaha, Darrel Buckley of Hanover, Md., and Danny Buckley of Dunedin, Fla.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 11 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; a brother, Vinton Hutson; two sisters, Pearl Newland and Cecil Newland.
