Richard J. Johnson

Richard "Dick" J. Johnson, 71, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum with the Rev. Ron Kitterman officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home.

Dick was born August 30, 1935 the son of Clyde W. and Marcella (Mulert) Johnson in Britt, Iowa. Dick later enlisted in the United States Army serving his country from February of 1957 until his honorable discharge in February 1959.

On October 23, 1971 Dick was united in marriage to Dianne Ferris in Phoenix, AZ. While living in Fort Dodge Dick drove truck for Bradley Moving and Storage and later went to work for White Transfer from which he retired from in 1997.

Richard had a passion for playing cribbage and fishing for the ultimate catch.

Those thankful for having shared in Dick's life include his wife Dianne, children; Susan Kennedy of Fertile, Iowa, Pam Johnson of Marshalltown, Iowa, Daniel and Russell Johnson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Randall Johnson of Windsor, Colorado, David Cuellar of Missouri, three sisters; Rose Santee and Donna Cline of Mason City, Iowa, Shirley Ostendorf of Clear Lake, Iowa, two brothers; James Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa, and Clyde Johnson of Clear Lake, Iowa.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; Clyde and Marcella Johnson, one daughter Laurie Johnson and one son Richard Johnson.
