Fertile, Iowa--Susan Kennedy, 48, Fertile, Iowa, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel with a graveside service at 1:00 p.m., at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa with Rev. Dennis Ganz officiated. Memorials may be given to the Susan Kennedy Memorial Fund.

Sue was born June 27, 1960 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Mary (Siebenbrunner) Johnson. She grew up in Ft. Dodge and graduated from Ft. Dodge High School in 1980. She later moved to Mason City. Sue married Charles Kennedy August 22, 1987 at the Church of Christ in Fertile, Iowa. She enjoyed drawing, yard work and listening to music. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Sue is survived by her husband Charles Kennedy, Fertile, Iowa; son Troy Johnson and his fiancee Heather Hartema, Ventura, Iowa; grandchildren Ciara and Jaden; stepmother Diane Johnson, Ft. Dodge, Iowa; brothers David (Cindy) Maxson, William Maxson, Russell Johnson, Lee Johnson, and Daniel (Judy) Johnson, a sister Pam Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard.
