Mary Rose Maxson

Clear Lake--Mary Rose Maxson, 61, died Friday (Oct. 9, 1998) at the Muse Norris Hospise Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Msgr. Joseph J. Slepicka officiating. Internment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Monday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, with a scriptural prayer service at 7 p.m.

Mary was born March 28, 1937, in Mankato, Minnesota, the daughter of Roland and Ursala (Wagner) Siebenbrunner. She graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School, Garner, in 1955. She later attended North Iowa Area Community College, Mason City.

Mary especially enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, raising flowers, practical jokes and collecting knick knacks. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Clear Lake.

Mary is survived by six children, Daniel P. Johnson and his wife, Judy of Council Bluffs, R. Lee Johnson and his wife, Cinda, of Broomfield, Colorado, Susan Kennedy and her husband Charles of Fertile, Russell D. Johnson and his wife, Lora, of Milo, David Water Maxson and his wife, Angeleeta, of Des Moines and William J. Maxson of Iowa City; 14 grandchildren, Kristin Johnson, Summer Johnson, Heather Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Erik Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Baree Weber, Eric Weber, Troy Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Shane Maxson, Stuart Maxson, Chelsea Maxson and Eric Maxson; and two sisters Jean Haight and her husband, Robert of Mason City, and Anita Friest and her husband, Ken, of Clear Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Richard Johnson in 1988.
