Arthur J Schoenwetter, son of Charles and Sophia Holtz Schoenwetter was born in Liberty Township, near Klemme, January 25, 1881. As a youth he attended the rural school near his home and received his religious education at the Liberty Methodist Church.
On March 1, 1905 he was united in marriage to Emma Ludeke and together they lived and farmed west of town for nearly 40 years. In 1916 they moved to their home in Kleeme where he has lived since.
Mr Schoenwetter passed away on Wednesday, December 20, at the Ritter Nursing Home in Clear Lake. He suffered a stroke several days before and only recently had been transfered to the nursing home. He was 86 years of age.Surviving are his wife, Emma, and one daughter, Ethel, Mrs Herman Meyer.
Also surviving is one brother and 3 sisters, Victor Schoenwetter of Clear Lake, Mrs Anna Pringnitz of Klemme, Mrs Ella Yeager of Hugo, Colorado and Miss Myrtle Schoenwetter of Webster City.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Ed and George and 1 sister, Flora Schlei.
Pallbearers were Forrest Langlita, Glen Bridges, Quintin Stile, Elmer Beier, Virgil Stile and George Christie.
