Joseph H. Zrostlik
1902-1987

Services for Joseph H. Zrostlik, 84, of Hayfield, who died Tuesday, May 5, 1987 at Concord Manor Care Center in Garner, were held 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 8 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan with Rev. Msgr. John Chihak as celebrant.

Leonard Formanek was lector. Mass servers were Randy Hadacek, Jerry Ricke and Terry Ricke.

Mrs. Roger Kopacek, organist, accompanied the church choir. Ushers were Francis Zrostlik and Donald Trca.

Casket bearers were Tom Zrostlik, David Zrostlik, Joe Zrostlik, Allan Hestness, Francis Oborny and Mike Studer.

Burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan. Visitation and rosaries by the Rosary Society, Parish and Catholic Workman's Lodge were held at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt.

Joseph Henry Zrostlik, the son of Mike and Barbara (Vavrik) Zrostlik was born October 16, 1902 on a farm near Duncan. He attended the rural schools of Garfield Township.

November 24, 1931, he married Marie C. Malek at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. They farmed in Hancock County until 1964, when they retired and moved into Hayfield. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Catholic Workman's Lodge #51.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; his children, Vincent and his wife, Cheryl, of Forest City, Raymond and his wife, Millie, of Des Moines, Mrs. Regina Studer and her husband, Jerry of Mason City, Mrs. Dorothy Hestness and her husband, Jerry, of Mason City, Mrs. Margaret Mostrom and her husband, Norman, of Clearwater, Fla., Leonard and his wife, Ruth, of Forest City, Donald and his wife, Betty, of Austin, Tex., Rose Mary Zrostlik of Omaha, Nebr., Edwin and his wife, Barbara, of Downey, Calif., Bernard of Suisun City, Calif., Mrs. Barbara Kroger and her husband, James, of Lyons, Nebr. and Mrs. Rita Shipman and her husband, Sam, of Grimes; 23 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; his sister, Mrs. Agnes Oborny of Britt; 3 brothers, Frank and his wife, Emma of Garner, Sylvester and his wife, Magda, of Britt and Pete and his wife, Imogene, of Britt; and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Marvin (Rose) Johanns of Osage.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary Jakoubek and Helen, who died in infancy; and 2 brothers, James and Edward; and several infant grandchildren.
