Cyril "Cy" E. Mozack of Britt died Thursday, May 11, 2000 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt. He was 78.

Funeral services for Mr. Mozack were held Monday, May 15 at the United Methodist Church, Britt. The Rev. Robert Dodge officiated. Music was provided by Tammy Johnson who accompanied several congregational hymns.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt. The Ewing Funeral Home of Britt was in charge of arrangements.

Casketbearers were Andy Hejlik, David Hildebrand, James Thompson, Chris Hejlik, Steve Jennings, Ron Thompson.

Honorary casketbearers were Forrest Gilmore, Bob Mozack, Jim Carlsberg, George Campbell, Don Eisenman, Doug Mays, and James Darr.

Cyril Mozack was born Feb. 18, 1922 on a farm north of Britt. The son of Ellis and Goldie Maye (Clark) Mozack, he attended country schools in the area and worked on the farm for his brother-in-law until March 2, 1943 when he was called to serve his country during W.W. II. Mr. Mozack served in the Pacific Theater until his discharge in 1945.

On Feb. 18, 1946, Cy Mozack and Edna Mae Hildebrand were married. The couple farmed east of Britt for 27 years. He left farming and was employed by Marting Manufacturing until his retirement in 1985.

An avid sportsman, Mr. Mozack was a member of the Ventura Gun Club. He enjoyed his grandchildren and enjoyed music. Mr. Mozack was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men's Group, and the Britt VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Edna, a daughter, Charlotte Hejlik and her husband, Ken, of Britt; two sons, Larry Mozack and his wife, JoAnn, of Mason City, and Randy Mozack of Mission, S. D.; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Also surviving are a sister, Leona Hansen, and her husband, Dick, of Minneapolis, Minn.; two nieces and a nephew.

Mr. Mozack was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers.
