Services for Robert Banker, 65, of Britt, who died Wednesday, July 19, 1995 at North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City were held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 22, at the Church of Christ in Clear Lake with Pastor Dean Cripe as officiant.

Marian Enabit was organist.

Casket bearers were Bob's children, Russell Banker, Rebecca Veldhouse, Robert Banker Jr., Louis Banker Jr., Richard Banker and David Banker.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Britt with graveside military rites conducted by the Britt Veteran's Ceremonial Unit. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Britt.

Robert Nolan Banker, the son of Louis Christopher and Ethel Jane (Cornford) Banker, was born December 1, 1929 at Litchfield, NE. The family farmed near Litchfield, NE until 1938, when they moved to Algona. In March of 1941, they began farming near Kanawha and in 1950 moved to Britt. Bob served his country in the U. S. Air Force.

March 25, 1950, he married Beryle Eileen Crone at Broken Bow, NE. Bob worked with his father as a blacksmith, as a projectionist at the Chief Theater from 1951-63 and for Winnebago Industries at Forest City. He also owned and operated Bob's Bicycle Shop, where he bought, sold and repaired bicycles for many years. He was well known by two generations of bicycles in North Iowa. He enjoyed his family, golfing, music, photography and old movies.

He was a member of the Church of Christ at Clear Lake and had belonged to the Britt Lion's Club.

He is survived by his wife,, Beryle E. Banker of Britt; six children, Russell Banker of Iowa City, Rebecca Veldhouse and her two daughters, Jennifer and Kathryn, all of Port Angeles, WA, Robert Banker Jr. and his wife, Mary, and their daughter, Lindsay, all of Sioux Falls, SD, Louis Banker Jr. and his wife, Julie, and their children, Christopher, Matthew and Abigail, all of Cedar Rapids, Richard Banker and his wife, Sue, and their son, Ryan, all of Ankeny and David Banker and his wife, Lori, of Sioux Falls, SD; and his sister, Alberta Banker of Britt.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Louis Michael Veldhouse, February 14, 1982; his father, Louis Banker Sr., February 20, 1976; and his mother, Ethel Banker, March 11, 1993.
