Services for Amelia Eenhuis Kyhl, 70, of Britt who died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East in Mason City, were held 10:30 a,m., Saturday, Jan. 25, at First Lutheran Church in Britt with Rev. James Mattson as officiant.

Donna Tech, organist, ,accompanied Beverly Cataldo, soloist. Ushers were Don Dallman and Ron Smidt.

Grandchildren served as honorary casket bearers: Brandon Eenhuis, Jesse Gerdes, Blaine Barker, Stephanie Barker, Billie Jo Seidel, Kimberly Seidel, Jill Eenhuis and Jason Eenhuis.

Active casket bearers were grandsons Brett Eenhuis, Joe Eenhuis, Jason Eenhuis, Jeremy Eenhuis, Eric Eenhuis and Chad Gerdes.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt.

Amelia Amanda Eenhuis Kyhl, the daughter of Arthur and Rosa (Waldo) Lassahn, was born February 10, 1926, on a farm in Madison Township. She attended the rural schools of Erin Township and later worked at the hemp plant in Britt.

December 3, 1944, she married Fred Aldrich Eenhuis at First Lutheran parsonage in Britt. They lived in Forest City and Britt. Amelia had worked at Artes Produce, Britt Tech and Winnebago Industries at Forest City. After her husband's death, June 25, 1977 she continued to live. in. Britt.

January 28, 1983, she married Arlen Kyhl in Reno, NV. They made their home in Britt. She enjoyed her family and flower gardening.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church and Lutheran Church Women's organization.

She is survived by her husband, Arlen Kyhl of Britt; her children, Linda Barker and her husband, Richard of Britt, Larry Eenhuis and his wife, Barbara of Garner, Sherry Seidel of Sioux Falls, SD, David Eenhuis and his wife, Martha of Rockford, MN, and Wayne Eenhuis and his wife, Barbara of Waverly; a son-in-law, David Gerdes of Goodell; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Amanda Wibben of Montevideo, MN, and Frances Brouwer and her husband, Harold of Waterloo; and three sisters-in-law, June Lassahn of Saginaw, MI, Julie Lassahn of Saginaw, MI and Altha Lassahn of Osage, MN.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Eenhuis; two daughters, Connie Rose Eenhuis in 1957, and Janet Grace Gerdes, December 28, 1991; her parents; and six brothers, Arthur Lassahn, Herman Lassahn, Harold Lassahn, Charles Lassahn, Fred Lassahn and August Lassahn.
