Rites held Saturday for Marion Hodson

Marion W. Hodson, died at his home in Forest City May 18. He was 64 years old.

Funeral services were held last Saturday at the United Methodist church in Forest City, with the Rev. B. Gordon Packard officiating.

Mrs. Robert Goranson served as soloist and Mrs. Franklin Bienert was the organist.

Casket bearers were David Carson, Leo Fank, Frank Haugen, Ray Petersen, James Smith and Eldon Willis. Interment was at the Madison township cemetery with the Olson-Petersen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Hodson was born near Earlham on Sept. 13, 1911, the son of Clarence and Clara (Bechtel) Hodson. When he was a child, the family moved to the Forest City-Crystal Lake area. He attended school in Crystal Lake.

For several years, he farmed in the Forest City-Leland area and moved to Forest City in 1953. Mr. Hodson worked for the Forest City Coop Elevator until ill health forced him to retire.

He is survived by his son, Roger Hodson, of Forest City, four grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Thorland of Thompson and Mrs. Lyle (Gail) Cottington of Sun City, Calif.
