Rites conducted for Louise DeWaard

Louise DeWaard, 77, of Britt died Sept. 11, 1993, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East in Mason City.

Funeral service was held Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Titonka with Rev. Virtus Stoffregen officiating. Organist was Anita Eden and soloist was Daryl Heino.

Honorary casket bearers were Kandy DeWaard, Thomas DeWaard, Sara Banwarth and Tammy Jacobson. Casket bearers were Todd DeWaard, Timothy DeWaard, Duane DeWaard, Paul Jacobson, LeRoy Senne and Russell Buss. Interment was in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery at Titonka with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Louise DeWaard was born Dec. 30, 1915, to Ernest and Wilhelmine (Baade) Senne on a farm northwest of Woden. She attended the country schools near Woden.

May 1, 1941, she was married to Manus "Mike" DeWaard at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Woden. They farmed for a number of years in Orthel Township and in 1986 moved into Britt.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Titonka.

Survivors include her son Kenneth and his wife, Linda, of Britt, and her daughter, Bette Banwarth, and her husband, John, of Blaine, Minn.; five grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; two sisters, Ann Attig of Forest City and Helena Buss of Buffalo Center, and one brother, George Senne of Woden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Manus who died in 1990, her parents, one son, Raymond, who died in 1973, and two brothers, Ernest and Dick Senne.
