Services held for Mrs W. F. Lau, 77

Mrs. Wm. F. Lau, 77, died at her home Thursday, Jan. 10, after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, at the First Methodist church, Garner. The Rev. C. Dana Boggie officiated, using, I Cor. 15.55 as his text.

Comfort in music was sung by Richard C. Smithson, soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Richard Smithson. The hymns "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were sung.

Interment was made in Concord cemetery with the Bohn Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Arthur Jass, Vern Hamillon, Arnold Hampel, Gordon Hays, Ben Peterson and Ben Asche.

Helen Olive (Ollie) Braund, daughter of Solomon and Helen Braund, was born at Camp Douglas, Wis., Feb. 18, 1885. She moved to the Garner community with her parents when a young girl. In 1902, she was married to Alvin Liscomb. He died in 1916. She married William F. Lau on April 3, 1928, and they continued to make their home in Garner.

Surviving are her husband; three sons, Harold Liscomb, Racine, Wis.; Kenneth Liscomb, Pomona, Calif.; Curtis Liscomb, Garner; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Harris, Eldorado, Kansas, and Mrs. Golda Lee, Clear Lake. Four stepsons, Leonard Lau, Washington, D.C.; Milvern Lau, Des Moines: Leroy Lau, Algona; and Alfred Lau, Indianola.
