Sandra K. Troe, 60, of Britt died Friday (October 11, 2002) at the Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls. Memorial services were Sunday, October 13th at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating and also Monday, October 14th at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt with the Rev. Larry Vallery officiating. Honorary bearers were Sandras grandchildren. Inurnment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt.

Sandra Kay Troe, the daughter of Mahlon Burgess and Mildred P. (Dickens) Yaggy, was born July 10, 1942 in New Hampton. She was baptized in the United Methodist Church in New Hampton. Sandy started kindergarten in Farmersburg and finished her schooling at Britt.

In 1959 she was married to David Rasmuson and had three daughters. Sandy worked at Rite Drug in Iowa Falls for ten years.

She enjoyed horseback riding, reading, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.

Sandy had a fifteen-year struggle with cancer and had resided at Heritage Care Center for the past ten years in Iowa Falls. Throughout her struggle, her sense of humor always prevailed never failing to leave the gift of a smile.

Thanks to the Lions Club, Sandy, with the assistance of her seeing-eye dog, Jeremiah, was able to maintain her independence.

Sandy is survived by her three daughters, Lisa McNickle and her husband, Dan, of Alden, Kim Rieber and her husband, Ron, of Iowa Falls and Darla VanKooten of Granger; nine grandchildren, Shane and his wife, Tonya, Trent, Tessa, Dani and Ali McNickle, Dustin and Dylan Rieber and Grant and Abby VanKooten; two great grandchildren, Leigha and Madison McNickle; her mother, Millie Yaggy of Britt; and her sister, Lori Stockman and her husband, Kevin, of Ogden and her son, David.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mahlon Yaggy, June 23, 1992.
