Services for Eunice L. Weaver, 73, of Garner, who died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday Aug. 24, at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Garner, with the Rev. Brett Kroh officiating.

Music was provided by Beverly Cataldo.

Burial was in Concord Township Cemetery, Garner.

Casket bearers were Marcus Weaver, Dan Kaler, Jeff Peck, Bill Wreghitt, Jeff Reichardt and Arnold Jensen.

Visitation was held Sunday at the funeral home.

Eunice Laura Weaver, the daughter of Albert and Laura (Boge) Helmke, was born June 7, 1925 at Renwick. She attended school at Livermore, Corwith, LuVerne and Renwick.

July 25, 1946, she married Merrill Weaver at Blue Earth, MN. They lived in Algona, Livermore, Clear Lake and Waterloo where she worked at Black's Department Store. After her husband's death in 1987, she continued to live in Waterloo until 1991 when she moved to San Bernadino, CA, to be near her son. In 1992, she returned to Waterloo. The following year she moved to Duncan Heights to be near her daughter, Sharon Springer, in Garner.

She enjoyed her family, friends, and going places. She had attended the Cedar Heights Baptist Church in Cedar Falls.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Springer and her husband, Ron of Garner; a son, Carey Weaver and his wife, Trudy of Peoria, IL; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Weaver of New London; a former daughter-in-law, Helga Weaver of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Iona Lillevik of Emmetsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Rodney Weaver in 1998; grandson, Todd Reichardt; and two brothers; Marvin and Bernard Helmke.
