Eva B. Schnebly
1900-1993

Services for Eva B. Schnebly, 93, of Garner, who died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1993, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center West in Mason City, were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday Sept. 11, at the United Methodist Church in Garner with Rev. Robert T. Ellis as officiant.

Mrs. Richard Johnson, organist, accompanied Mrs. Dennis Schott and Mrs. David Bergman, who sang as a duet. Ushers were Marvin Lackore, Mrs. Tessie Johnson and Dennis Schott.

Casket bearers were granddaughters Zelene Schilling, Pam Hamilton, Cheri Hoeft, Kerry Schnebly, Bonnie Bradley, Kendra Baumgartner, Becky Schnebly, Renee Hines, Rhonda Folkerts and Cindy Schleusner.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Garner.

Eva Belle Schnebly, the daughter of William Perry and Mary Prudence (Russell) Goodrich, was born June 27, 1900 at Webster City. She attended the rural schools near Webster City and then moved with her family to Kanawha where she finished eighth grade. She worked as a midwife for Dr. Judd in Kanawha for several years.

May 22, 1929, she married Oliver Henry "Hank" Schnebly at the United Methodist Church in Clarion. They farmed near Kanawha and then moved to Hayfield in 1941. In March of 1990, they moved into Prairie View Apartments in Garner. Eva will always be remembered for her loving and caring ways toward her family and friends. Her grandchildren will remember her as their "Cookie Grandma."

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, U.M.W., the U-Go-I-Go Club, a former Camp-Fire girl and a life-time member of the Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by three daughters, Zelma Petersen and her husband, Darreld of Clear Lake, Mrs. Donald (Winona) Schulz of Garner and Wanita Crites Priebe and her husband, Clyde of Dakota City; three sons, Orvin Schnebly and his wife, Lelia Patterson of Downey, CA, Russell Schnebly and his wife, Ilene of Forest City and Roger Schnebly and his wife Dianne of Dysart; 20 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 16 step-greatgrandchildren; a brother-in-law, Ralph Schnebly of Sunnyvale, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hank Schnebly, January 15, 1993; a grandson, Kelly Schnebly; a great-grandson, Joey Petersen; a son-in-law, Donald Schulz; her parents; three sisters, Esther McConnell, Elizabeth Johnson and Eleanor Schnebly and three brothers, George Goodrich, Earl Goodrich and Jesse Goodrich.
