Services held Monday for Clarence Hein

Funeral services for Clarence A. Hein, 79, were held Oct. 27 at Faith Lutheran church in Miller with the Rev. Kenneth Heirrike officiating.

Mr. Hein, a former Miller area farmer and later a Forest City lumber yard and service station operator, died at his home in Forest City Oct. 25.

Music was provided by Mrs. Ronald Anderson, organist, and Mrs. Gordon Upmeyer and Mrs. Arlo Woiwood. Casket bearers were Peter Juhl, Allen Hallett, Kenneth Gast, Edwin Putz, Norman Rankin and Harland Halverson.

Burial was at Madison cemetery.

Clarence Arthur Hein was born Dec. 13, 1895, to Gustane and Emma (Hesley) Hein near Miller. He was baptized at Miller and was an active member of Faith Lutheran church.

He married Esther Nelson on Dec. 20, 1921, and they farmed until 1947 when they moved to Forest City. Mr. Hein had served in the infantry during World War I.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Ruby) Jante; a sister, Mabel Henschen; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A sister and one grandchild.
