Leo Hadacek dies suddenly Jan. 1st

Last Rites for Leo G. Hadacek, 27, of Rockwell, and former resident of the Duncan Community, were held Wednesday morning, January 4, at 10 o'clock at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. The Rev. Rev. Msgr. W. C. Hradecky, offered the Requiem Mass. Interment took place in St. John's Cemetery in Duncan.

The Rosary was recited Tuesday evening at 8 p.m., by members of the church and at 8:30 by the Knights of Columbus members, at the Boughton Funeral Home in Britt.

Pallbearers were John F. Surat, Robert Hadacek, Leonard Pistek, Kay Reindl, Paul Zrostlik, Paul Kisley Jr., Virgil Busta and Cecil Hanson.

Leo George Hadacek, son of Frank J. and Barbara (Busta) Hadacek, was born April 19, 1939, at Mason City. In infancy he was baptized and later was confirmed in the Catholic faith. His education was received in the Duncan School and later at Garner, where he was a graduate of the Garner-Hayfield High School with the class of 1957. Following, school he farmed with his brother, Francis, near Rockwell. He was recently employed as foreman for Weaver Construction Co. of Iowa Falls.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves; was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church at Rockwell.

Less than one week ago he became ill and entered the hospital last Friday. His condition suddenly developed to be serious, and Sunday evening he passed away.

Surviving are three brothers, Francis, with whom he was making his home at Rockwell; Cletus of Duncan; Donald of LaCrosse, Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. Donald (Marie) Hildman, Plymouth; Mrs. James (Cecilia) O'Day, Peoria, Ill.; and Mrs. Michael (Rita) Dukeshier of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nov. 9, 1959, and his father on July 14, 1964. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, in infancy.
