Services for Mrs. Mamie Chizek, 95, of Garner, who died Monday, Feb. 1, 1988 at her home in Garner will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 4 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. Msgr. John Chihak as celebrant.

Mrs. Ronald Kumsher will serve as organist and will accompany the choir. Ushers will be Elmer Urich and Robert Kral.

Casket bearers will be Ron Brozik, Elmer Buckley, Cletus Liska, Art Chizek, Clarence Chizek and Wayne Knutson.

Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Garner. Visitation will be held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Mary "Mamie" Margaret Chizek, the daughter of James and Mary (Fiala) Brozik, was born April 13, 1893 in Franklin County. She moved with her family to Garfield Township, where she attended the rural schools.

January 28, 1913, she was married to Frank J. Chizek at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. They lived in Mason City for two years and then moved to Garfield Township in Hancock County where they farmed until 1956, when they retired and moved into Garner.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rosary Society, Grandmother's Club and the Garner Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her son, Frank Chizek and his wife, Minnie "Babe," of Palm Desert, CA; her daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Jensen and her husband, Nels, of Britt; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Chizek of Desert Hot Springs, CA; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; 3 brothers, William Brozik and his wife, Pearl, of Garner, Leonard Brozik and his wife, Connie, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Edward Brozik and his wife, Eleanor, of Garner, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Frances Brozik of Garner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, November 11, 1981; her son, Robert Chizek; a grandson, James Naylor; her parents; a sister, Mrs. Ella Kulas and 4 brothers, V.J. Brozik, Frank J. Brozik, Harry Brozik and Joseph Brozik.
