Services for Milo A. Lundberg, 75, Forest City, who died Thursday, July 17, 1997, at his home, were held Saturday, July 19, 2 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Forest City with Rev. Gary Marzolf officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Nancy Farndale, who accompanied soloist, Rev. Gary Marzolf, and the congregational hymns.

Casket bearers were Harry Halverson, Don Anderson, Gene Lackore, Charlie Fouts, Phil Hansen, Bill Hansen, Ronald Brager and Jim Rasmussen.

Burial was at the Madison Township Cemetery, Forest City, with Petersen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Milo A. Lundberg, the son of Albert and Lillie (Lorenzen) Lundberg, was born October 4, 1921, in Forest City. He attended Forest City Schools and graduated from Forest City High School. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II in the European Theatre and took part in the Normandy Invasion. After his discharge from the service, he returned to Forest City.

June 30, 1954, he married Darleen Nelson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple began farming on the southeast edge of Forest City. Later, Milo quit farming and began working for Winnebago Industries. He retired from there after 15 1/2 years.

Milo was active in scouting his whole life. He served as Scoutmaster for Forest City Troop 18 for 12 years, ending in 1969. He enjoyed caring for his yard and garden.

Milo was a member of the United Methodist Church in Forest City. He and Darleen have both been very active in square dancing. They teach and cue round dances and have over 30 years of regular attendance at square dance conventions.

He is survived by his wife, Darleen Lundberg of Forest City; a son, Raymond Lundberg of Cedar Rapids; a daughter and her husband, Catherine and Steven Nedved of Garner; a brother, Elmer Lundberg of Bentonville, AR; two sisters, Myrth Smith of Forest City and Leora Smith of Denver, CO; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and a granddaughter, Melissa Nedved.
